Rules of Craps

Craps

Dice games have long been played and been popular among many cultures. Craps is one of those dice games and it’s the one that is most often played in casinos, both in their online and offline versions. It is a game that is seen as classy and played by those who are articulate.

Craps is considered a table game and therefore it takes place on a special table with a special layout. Online craps players will generally have the option to play at two types of tables, designed either for solo or for group playing. The solo table gives the player the shooter position during all the rounds, while at group tables the players will take turns, and each one will bet he shooter that throws the dice.

If you compare online craps with the offline version, the online variant is easier to play, since the software automates it to some degree. It’s still important for you to know the rules of craps, and to be able to tell when you’ve won or not. The player simply clicks on the table and chooses where the bet should be placed.

The game of craps starts with the betting period, which takes place before the dice is rolled. The betting period starts with the bet on either the Pass option, or the Don’t Pass option. After the players make their bets on these two options, they go on to make extra bets if they want to, and they can be on pretty much anything, including on multiple rolls. The player that is the shooter remains in that position until he loses. After the betting is done, the roll of the dice takes place. The name of the rolls is “Come Out”.

This initial roll of the dice can potentially have a value of 7 or 11, which give the players with the Pass bets the win. If the values are 2, 3 or 12, Don’t Pass bets are the winners (these three values are also known as craps, which gives the game its name). If there are other values being show on the dice, the number in question is considered a point.

After that initial point is determined, it is used as the goal for those that placed a bet on Pass. Those that used the Don’t Pass option will be looking to get the 7 value. The dice will be thrown repeatedly, until either the 7 or the point value is obtained. Depending on which of them is obtained first, either the Pass or the Don’t Pass bets are declared winners.

The player can simply leave the money on the table once the round ends, and it will be used again in the next bet for the same side.

The rules of craps are easy to understand, as you can see, and it’s even easier when you play online, since the software does much of the work for the player.
