Rules of Sic Bo

Pai Gow Poker

Sic Bo is played in casinos all over the world. It is most popular within Asia and is found at many online casinos and in most land based gaming establishments. The game is considered to be quite simple and easy to understand, which is why many players enjoy it. Put simply, the game requires players to guess what the outcome will be for a roll which uses three dice. The game is played on a table and it uses three dice.

You will find it very easy to understand how to play the game, but it’s a bit more difficult to learn all the possible types of bets and bet amounts that can be used. We’ll cover below just the types of bets which are common, and available in all kinds of Sic Bo.

The first one is the bet on either Big numbers or Small numbers. A Big number is between 11 and 17. The Small number is 4 to 10 points. The payout is even money if the guess is correct in this case. If a triple appears (three identical numbers), the player loses.

The second type of bet is the one where you choose either Even or Odd numbers for the total value of the dice. Once again, you get even money for a correct guess, and you lose automatically if a triple dice appears.

The third type of bet is the one made on the total sum that will appear once the dice are thrown. It has much better payouts than the first two bet types that we mentioned. Numbers 9 to 12 pay the least, the odds being 6 to 1. Getting either 8 or 13 will pay 8 to 1, 7 or 14 will pay 12 to 1, 6 or 15 will pay 14 to 1, 5 or 16 will pay 18 to 1, and finally, getting either 4 or 17 will pay 50 to 1. Some of these possible combinations are riskier than others, as you can see, but the payouts are better if you guess correctly as well. The player guesses one number, so even though there are two possible numbers for the same type of payout, only the one made by the player pays. Players have the option to place multiple bets, on multiple numbers.

While the triple number can be a losing combination in some types of bets, it can be a bet on itself. The player can wager that there will be the same number on all three dice, and he has to specify which number will appear on them. Payouts can be quite big, even 150 to 1, but it depends on each casino.

He can also just bet that it will be a triple number, without specifying which number will come up, but the payout will be considerably smaller, at 24 to 1.

The double bet is the one where you guess that two dice will have an identical number on them, out of the three dice that are rolled. The payout in this case is 8 to 1.

There are also bets possible where the player guesses a combination formed on two of the three used dice. There are 15 possibilities, and the payout is 5 to 1.

Finally, we have the bet that predicts that a certain number will come up. There are six possibilities, and the payouts are given for correct choices based on how many times the number did come up (1 to 3 times, with payouts of 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1).
